do you do an in between feed for growing chickens ??after they come off chick starter. I have been advised not to put growing pullets straight onto Hi lay products till they reach point of lay. I also wish to grow a couple of cockrels on for stud purposes and I want them on a grower type feed with less protein as I have been advised roosters dont need high protein found in Hi Lay products - it seems the high protein levels can cause low sperm count - and as none of my birds bred last year this may have been a factor

Hi there, I have 6 chickens – 3 are 6 weeks old and the other 3 are about 22 weeks old. We have recently put them all together in the same coop – but is it okay for them to share feeds? We have the older chickens on Peck n Lay and the chicks are on Starter feed. The chicks tend to stick with their own food but the older chickens are also eating this. Is this okay? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, p.s. the oldest chicken has just laid her first egg today.

Please can you tell me what Coccidiostat is included in Chick starter now, I heard it had changed from Aviax and is there a coccidiostat in meat bird crumbles? Many thanks, Sue PS, I'm an advisor rather than a farmer!

We are still very dry and feel our herd need supplementing. We do not have feeding troughs, and wonder how effective feeding your product out with a sidefeeder wagon straight on to the paddock would be.

Hello, I have a 16.3hh Warmblood mare who has suffered from a mild case of tying up. They have advised me to not feed her grain products so i was wondering what products you would have available to use for weight grain but cool releasing energy.

Hello, I have got a ten year old Standardbred gelding and a four year old Shire horse gelding, both need to put on condition, especially the SB is a very poor doer. The pasture they are grazing is quite poor quality but they have hay available ad lib. At the moment I'm feeding about 700g of NRM Equine Balancer and 1-2 kg of FibrePro (Chaffhage). Could I replace the FibrePro with perhaps NRM Equi Jewel? Can I actually feed Equi Jewel and Equine Balancer together? I also read in another question that when feeding Equine Balancer I still need to ad salt. How much do I need to ad (mineral block is available at all times)? Have you got any other recommendations what to feed to put on condition, which doesn't heat them up as they are not doing much work? Your advice would be much appreciated! Yours sincerely, Elfi Menpes

Help to find the right feed for this hack. I have a high energy fizzy hack. The breeding of my 6 yr old mare is Hanoverian / Thoroughbred. This mare sweats excessively and has poor muscle and weight condition. This mare is in light to moderate exercise. I have tested out lots of different feeds with this mare to put weight on but they all increase the heating effect. At the momment she is getting hay in the moning and lucerne and hay at night with a large bucket of hay chaff, 5 litres of boiled barley and scoop of bran, magn and multi mineral block. Over winter I was feeding this twice a day just to keep her weight on. Her coat is not healthy. This mare gets very stiff muscles also. We are just starting our training for the up and coming seasons, and I would like to get her feed right for muscle and weight gain plus keeping her in a workable cool mind. could you please advise me of the best product you have that would that would be suitable for this mare. thankyou

Hi, I have a dry broodmare on Equine Balancer and she's a bit light in condition. I was wondering if it was ok to mix it with LowGI, as I have another horse on it, to help put some weight on her and if so how much should I mix with it? She's currently on 700gms of Equine Balancer, 1 1/2 scoops of Lucerne chaff and has about 3-4 slices of hay a night. Thanks! Stacey

Hi there, I recently inherited 4 chooks. 2 mature bantams and 2 shavers, about 14 weeks old. The bantams have been on mash and the shavers on chick crumble and mash. I want to move them onto pellets in a self feeder. The problem is that I have been trying to introduce them to Peck n Lay, but they won’t eat it. They roll it around in their beaks and then drop it. If I wet the pellets to make them soft, they will eat them. I have removed all other food sources, so they are forced to eat the pellets, but the bantams are now off the lay and I am concerned about the pullet’s nutrition. Can you offer any suggestions? Thanks and regards.

I have a clydie cross gelding who I just use for pleasure riding, he's not getting ridden much at the moment. He has lost a little weight over winter but is certainly not skinny! I've been told that he's lacking in Vit A & E, selenium, copper & zinc. He gets meadow hay everyday and Economix & meadow chaff a couple of times a week but may become more frequent. What would you suggest as far as feed and supplements go. Many thanks, Sheryl
