Hi. Could you tell me what the difference is between Lite Brew and Low GI Sport apart from Low GI sport containing EquiJewel. What instances would you feed either products? Thanks

There are a few key differences between NRM Lite Brew and NRM Low GI Sport.  NRM Low GI Sport is a low glycemic feed, having a lower overall starch level than NRM Lite Brew, the reason for this is that the calories in Low GI Sport are coming more from fat and fibre than starch by including Equi Jewel, sugar beet and higher levels of oil.

NRM Low GI Sport is also a semi concentrate i.e it has more vitamins and minerals per KG so it can be fed at a slightly lower intake to get the same amount of vitamins and minerals.  It also contains a organic chromium.  NRM Low GI Sport is a higher specification product.

NRM Low GI Sport is ideal for horses that are starch intolerant and is suitable to be feed for horses that are undertaking busy workloads.  NRM Lite Brew is suitable for horses that you are trying to avoid high grain diets but is not as low in starch as Low GI Sport, however for many horse Lite Brew is sufficient.  A lot of people will use NRM Low GI Sport during the season if competing and Lite Brew during winter when they are doing less.

The product you choose will depend a lot on your horse and his workload etc.
