NRM Fashion Show at Cup Week

 NRM ‘FEED TO FASHION’ 2008

Last year, NRM  teamed up with the Design and Arts College in Christchurch to produce a unique fashion show that took place on Cup Day. The designers were asked to produce race day attire out of nothing but NRM feed bags.

The result was a well received parade with some amazing outfits showing real skill and imagination from the local up coming designers. NRM was so pleased with the results and feedback received from the event that it wasn’t a hard decision to repeat the exercise for this year. A new group of young designers and a new design of bag to be used are the perfect ingredients for an eye stopping show of wearable arts that will be sure to grab attention.

-          The garments will be produced as part of the student’s curriculum with culmination of the project being the NRM ‘Feed to Fashion’ Parade.

-          The parade will be conducted in the birdcage in front of the main stand before the NRM Sire Stakes final on NZ Cup Day (from 3.40 – 3.55pm)

-          Judging will be conducted by a panel comprising of: Jane Broughten (About Town, Christchurch), Michael Guerin (Trackside),Karen Butt (Harness racing Representative) and Rev Crawford (NRM Business Manager)

NRM is proud to once again give local talent the opportunity to present their innovative garments at such a high profile event.
