Bettacow PKE Blends

 - When only the best will do.

The New Zealand dairy farmer is looking to maximise the value from supplementary feeding and subsequently maximise performance from the herd. This can only be done by meeting all of the cow’s nutritional requirements. If this is not done then the cows reproductive performance and milk production can be limited. To meet the needs of the New Zealand dairy cow, NRM has formulated a range of premium blends to balance typical forages being fed in New Zealand.

Ingredients selected from:

 Bettacow Basic

This feed is designed as a general supplementary feed that can be fed in conjunction with pasture for both dry and lactating cows. Please ensure that Bettacow Basic is fed in a controlled environment as there is a risk that cows will gorge or overfeed and this can lead to rumen acidosis. Feed at the rate of 1.5-2.5 kg/cow/day. Introduce feed gradually at 0.5kg/day and increase to 1.5-2.5 kg/cow/day.

Bettacow Peak

This feed is designed to be fed from calving until mid/late lactation. Feed in conjunction with pasture at 4 kg/cow/day. Introduce feed gradually at 0.5kg cow/day and increase gradually to 4 kg cow/day.

Bettacow Summer

This feed is designed to be fed during periods of drier, stalkier grass often present during summer. Feed in conjunction with pasture at 4 kg/cow/day. Introduce feed gradually at 0.5kg cow/day and increase gradually to 4 kg cow/day.

Bettacow Milk Booster

Designed to be fed from calving until mid/late lactation, Bettacow Milk Booster is a PKE based supplementary feed for dairy cows. It contains a vitamin and mineral premix along with the Response Concentrate from a world leading animal nutrition company, Provimi. Response helps to make previously inaccessible protein available to the cow and contains a natural rumen modifier to boost milk production. Feed at the rate of 4kg/per cow/per day.

Protected Minerals (Bioplex High 5™)

Fed at the recommended doses below, this provides an intake per cow per day of 300mg Zn, 125mg Cu, 2mg Se, 12.5mg Co and 8.3mg I, all in 100% organic form. These minerals have an important role to play in immunity, milk production, reproduction and hoof development.

Protected Vitamins (Vicomb P+)

Contains vitamins protected in a fatty acid matrix which allows the vitamins to bypass the rumen. Vitamins include vitamin A, D, E, Biotin, Calcium Pantothenate (B5), Pyridoxine (B6), Folic Acid. These vitamins aid in reducing stress and increasing milk production.

Rumen By-pass fats (Megalac™)

This is the most world benchmark in bypass fats. This unique calcium-soap of palm fatty acids is able to bypass the rumen and supply additional energy for milk production

Bovatec™

This is a rumen modifier that improves the production of volatile acids in the rumen for improved milk production. It is also an aid in the reduction of bloat.

Rumen Buffer (Acid Buff™)

This is a superior rumen buffer that is important in regulating the pH of the rumen to maintain an optimum pH for optimal rumen function of the microbes present in the rumen.
